Team DGRD and Crew Chief Tyler Swank Part Ways After Intense Month of Collaboration

 

[Knoxville, 6/16/24] — Team DGRD regretfully announces today the mutual decision to part ways with Crew Chief Tyler Swank. This decision comes after a period of collaboration and dedication, during which Tyler Swank contributed significantly to the team's performance.

Tyler Swank joined Team DGRD bringing a wealth of technical expertise and life experience to the table. His tenure with the team has been characterized by a strong commitment to excellence and a tireless drive to achieve results across all race tracks.

Owner Dennis Gainey expressed appreciation for Tyler's efforts during this intense period: "Tyler Swank has made a notable impact on Team DGRD in a short amount of time. His technical insight and dedication have been instrumental in our recent successes. We thank him for his hard work and wish him nothing but the best moving forward."

Drivers Bryce Lucius and Brandon Wimmer also acknowledged Tyler's efforts during his time with the team. Lucius commented, "Tyler's dedication over the past months has been evident in our performance improvements. We appreciate all he has done for us." Wimmer added, "His knowledge and commitment have been instrumental in our growth as a team."

In response to the announcement, Tyler Swank reflected on the situation: "I appreciate the opportunities I've had with Team DGRD. While it's disappointing, I understand their decision. It's often said as a 'mutual parting of ways,' but I can't help feeling like I've been let go once again. My time at DGRD has shown that any idiot can own a racecar, sometimes even four. It gives me the confidence, that with myself not being an idiot, that one day I could step into the realm of car ownership.”

Moving forward, Team DGRD remains focused on its competitive goals and will begin the search for a new Crew Chief to build on the foundation laid by Tyler Swank.
